Sample Assays

Sample preparation services

  • RNA and DNA extraction from cells, blood, and fecal slurries using Promega kits for the RSC48 Instrument
  • RNA extraction from FFPE samples using Roche High Pure FFPET RNA Isolation kit
  • RNA and DNA Quality and Quantity Assessment using Agilent Bioanalyzer, Thermofisher Qubit, and Promega GloMax Discover microplate reader
  • DNA Fragmentation for CNV Nanostring assays will use enzymatic method (AluI) supplied by Nanostring

  1. Sample requirement: submit samples in eppendorf tubes in a volume of 7uls.

  2. Reagent Requirements

    Provide the Nanostring Reporter and Capture Probe sets and Master Mix consumables to the facility.  These can be shipped directly from Nanostring to the Microbiome Shared Resource, our shipping address is the following:

Assay Processing

  • Overnight hybridization
  • Prep station run
  • nCounter reader run
  • Data returned via email and stored in the Express Database Repository.  Users can download the nSolver software for free to analyze their data
  • Data analysis services are provided on a fee for service basis, request fee data analysis consultation by emailing microbiomesr@duke.edu
