Dr. Jingdong Tian is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and in the IGSP. He received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, cell and developmental biology from SUNY Stony Brook and conducted postdoctoral work in cell biology, genomics, synthetic systems biology and engineering at Harvard Medical School. His research areas include synthetic biology, genomics, proteomics, nanotechnology, and biomedical engineering. He was the recipient of a Life Sciences Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship and a PhRMA Foundation Fellowship and holds two patents. He joined the faculty at Duke in 2005.
