Holly K. Dressman, PhD

Holly K. Dressman, PhD is the Director of the Duke Microarray Core Facility, a shared resource of the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center and a component of the IGSP Center for Applied Genomics and Technology. She received her PhD in Genetics from Pennsylvania State University in 1994. While earning her degree, Dr. Dressman received several research awards, followed by the completion of her IRTA postdoctoral training in Molecular Genetics at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in 1999. She accepted a position in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke in 1999.
In 2001 Dr. Dressman became the Director of the Microarray Core Facility and established the facility to provide the infrastructure to enable the development of major projects that utilize DNA microarrays for the large scale analysis of gene expression and services to investigators at Duke. Along with Dr. Joseph Nevins, she has been successful in securing funding through various NIH sources to support gene expression studies and to develop computational tools for the analysis of gene expression data, as well as database systems for storage and further analysis of expression experiments.
