The Harpole Lung Cancer Research laboratory has been funded by the National Cancer Institute and U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs for more than 15 years, with significant innovations in molecular prognostic and chemotherapy predictive markers in lung and esophageal cancer. Most recently, the lab received a Strategic Partnering to Evaluate Cancer Signatures [SPECS II] (U01) grant award from the NIH for work in squamous cell carcinoma.
